Makeup Challenges Whilst Travelling
I travel a lot, and I enjoy travelling. At one time (before 2001), I was able to easily pack everything in a hand luggage bag for a three-week trip. Sadly, those days are long gone. Since the 9/11 tragedy, the nature of travel has change dramatically. Moreover, the rise of budget airline travel has meant that travelling light has become an art form.
The dilemma has never been to take more or less clothing, or another pair of shoes, or an extra cardigan. The struggle has always been in trying to fit in enough makeup and toiletries into the minute plastic bag that security will give you at the airport. And suddenly you’re asking questions like “is my lipstick considered bag-able? Surely not! And if not, then why is my lip gloss bag-able? Eye pencil vs liquid eyeliner? Powder vs liquid foundation?”
So just in case you didn’t know, you are allowed to take a clear plastic bag that has a volume of 1 litre (measurements of 20cm x 20cm) from UK airports in which you will place all your liquid items. A single item in this bag must not be more than 100ml in size and this includes all your liquid, gel and aerosol items whether they are toiletries, makeup, medication or otherwise.
That really amounts to a small quantities of everything that you need to travel with. Now, I’m not advocating that you travel without makeup at all. But your life could be made a lot easier if the large portion of your makeup were already on your face to begin with. Think about how much easier it would be to travel with your eyebrows, your eyeliner and your lip colour already on your face. I propose that you might not need to travel with as much makeup as you think you need.
Added to this, is the fact that your makeup preparation time at your new destination is going to be a lot quicker as a result of having all these makeup features in place already. Having permanent makeup eyebrows, permanent makeup eyeliner and permanent makeup lip colour is certainly going to make your travel experience a lot easier and smoother.
